Work
I don't really see the importance of learning about work in Calculus....ya i mean you do need to use integrals to find work for some problems and stuff like that but think about this problem........How much work will it take you to calculate work???? ya tuff question huh? well the answer is a LOT! and I personally don't think it is worth the work i have to put into it to calculate what would save me the least amount of work b/c i've all really wasted all my work trying to think about.......well i hope you follow me...that's enough work thinking about work for today!

Vectors
So, I just got out of Calculus class and we took a quiz over vectors. At first vectors seemed really confusing and blew my mind. But now that we've been doing them for awhile...I can't understand what was so hard about them because they are pretty easy now. Anyway.. I was just thinking about how since they are so easy, how come they never taught us them in Calculus AP in High school? I guess it's because they had too many other things to teach us and vector weren't high up on the list of importance. But ya i was thinking that if I get to pick my curriculum when I am teaching......I might want to go ahead and teach vectors just because their easy and it will get them ahead in college. And who doesn't want to be ahead of things???

My First Post!!!!!
Hi my name is Kim and I am majoring in Math Education. I know I know, I am one of those crazy kids that actually love Math. On the other side though, I hate English with a passion. (Sorry to all you English majors.) I hope to one day teach Calculus AP to High School Seniors.
The reasons I like Math so much more than English are due to the fact that almost every problem in math has a definite answer. There may be many ways to get to that answer or a few different vatiations to that answer but still 1+1 is always going to equal 2. In English there can be so many different answers and most of it is your opinion, until of course it's time for a test and then only the teachers opinion counts.
